Beer Quiz Answer

Answer: Oktoberfest began on October 12, 1810, in Munich, Germany, as a public celebration of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.

The festivities concluded with horse races on October 17. The celebration was so popular that it returned the following year and eventually became an annual tradition. Over time, most of Oktoberfest was moved into September to take advantage of warmer weather, but the festival kept its original name.
